HE RAN FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T

He ran for those who can’t – Karol Barzyk (our Project Manager from Engineering Team) at Wings for Life World Run 2022.

Inspired by his friend Óli from Iceland who uses wheelchair, Karol decided to participate in charitable run dedicated to those with spinal cord injuries. Formula of this awesome event is extraordinary – finish line is behind the runners. The car driven by Ski Jumping World’s Champion – Adam Małysz – leads to the finish line and then catches every single runner, eventually.

All entry fees and donations assigned to particularly chosen runner go 100% to spinal cord research for future treatment of spinal injuries.

As Karol said: “The plan was simple – not to be caught by Adam Małysz and his white Porsche for 31km, at least. Plan failed at 29th km, but it was worth it. As donations skyrocketed to over €900. Thanks a million to all those who donated to my number during this charity action! Certainly, it was sort of pressure I was under, too.

A bit of hope given to those who can’t run is always priceless! Let’s see what’s up next year – is 31km beatable for me?“.
