The Odda zinc smelter, established in the 1920s, is beautifully situated right next to Sorfjorden in western Norway. This facility primarily uses zinc concentrates for zinc production, with recycled zinc as a secondary raw material. Notably, the zinc production in Odda is among the most climate-effective in the world. This project will digitize and automate the processes needed to double the zinc production capacity and at the same time reducing the carbon dioxide intensity by fifteen percent from already a world leading position.
