East Anglia THREE, 69 km from the Suffolk coast in eastern England, the world’s second largest wind farm development (with an output of up to 1,400 MW), is to start its operations in 2026.
An HVDC platform is a crucial part of many offshore wind farms, converting AC generated by the turbines into DC before sending the power to shore. East Anglia THREE offshore converter is the seven-story structure, which is more than 68 m long, 34 m wide and 44 m tall.
At the Stord yard, the HVDC equipment and complete construction of the converter station is to be installed. For a few weeks our teams have already been working on this assignment. We have supplied approximately 120 highly experienced specialists: scaffolders, insulators, architectural operators, foremans and EIT.
Once the HVDC equipment is installed and the construction of the converter station is completed, the platform will be ready for its critical role in delivering clean, renewable energy. This milestone not only underscores the dedication and expertise of our teams but also highlights the significant progress being made towards a more sustainable energy future.
We are proud to contribute to the East Anglia THREE wind farm and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the UK’s energy landscape.
