Valemon – North Sea Platform Operations

Valemon is a gas and condensate field located in the northern part of the North Sea, positioned just west of the Kvitebjørn field. It lies in water depths of approximately 135 metres and forms part of Norway’s significant offshore hydrocarbon resources.

The field is developed around a fixed production platform equipped with facilities for separating gas, condensate and water. Operations on Valemon are notable for the remote control of the platform’s functions from an onshore control centre, which supports efficient and safe production management.

Valemon produces hydrocarbons from Lower Jurassic sandstones in the Cook Formation and Middle Jurassic sandstones within the Brent Group. The subsurface geology is structurally complex and characterised by high pressure and high temperatures, presenting challenges that are managed through careful reservoir and production planning.

Hydrocarbons extracted at Valemon are transported for processing via nearby infrastructure: rich gas is sent through the Kvitebjørn Gas Pipeline to the Kollsnes onshore terminal, while condensate is moved through a pipeline tied into Troll Oil Pipeline II toward the Mongstad terminal for refining. Prior to 2023, gas was also exported via Heimdal before the rerouting through Kvitebjørn became permanent.

In 2026, YABIMO is supporting ongoing operations at the Valemon Field by providing highly skilled offshore personnel who play a key role in maintaining essential platform functions and supporting operational continuity. Their contributions help sustain safe, efficient maintenance and support work across the Valemon installation.

Specifically, YABIMO personnel provided in 2026 include:

• Insulation fitters – specialists in installing and maintaining thermal and acoustic insulation systems
• Scaffolders – experienced in erecting and maintaining safe scaffold structures for work at height
• Surface fitters – responsible for mechanical assembly, installation, and maintenance of surface equipment
