Furniture in Keflavik School, Iceland

In December 2019, Yabimo was awarded the contract to manufacture and deliver furniture for the Keflavik School, a significant educational facility located in Iceland. This ambitious project aimed to create a conducive learning environment for students while ensuring durability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal across various school settings.

 

Project Timeline: The project spanned from late 2018 through the summer of 2020. Throughout this period, Yabimo effectively coordinated the design, manufacturing, and delivery of the furniture, ensuring that all equipment was in place by the summer holidays of 2020, just in time for the new academic year.

 

Scope of Equipment Supplied:

  1. Classrooms: The heart of the educational experience, classrooms received a range of furniture including desks, chairs, and collaborative tables designed to foster a productive learning atmosphere. Our designs prioritized ergonomic considerations and flexibility to adapt to different teaching methods.
  2. Libraries: The furniture for the library included bookcases, reading nooks, study tables, and comfortable seating. We aimed to create an inviting space that encourages reading and study while maximizing the available area for various activities.
  3. Research Rooms: Specialized furniture was tailored for research rooms, including workstations equipped with technology integration for modern learning. These spaces were designed to support hands-on learning and collaborative projects.
  4. Receptions: The reception area received stylish and functional furniture to create a welcoming first impression. This included reception desks, seating for visitors, and organizational units to keep the space orderly and inviting.
  5. Corridors: To enhance common areas, we provided furniture such as benches and display units that contribute to both the functionality and aesthetic of the corridors, encouraging interaction and creativity among students.
  6. Toilets: We also supplied essential fixtures and furnishings for toilets to ensure that they met current health and safety standards, while also being user-friendly for students of all ages.

 

Logistical Considerations: The entire load for this project amounted to over 600 m³, reflecting the scale of our commitment to efficacy and quality in delivering furniture solutions. Our logistics team ensured that products were delivered on time while adhering to high safety standards during transportation.

By focusing on quality design and logistical efficiency, Yabimo successfully contributed to creating a dynamic educational environment at Keflavik School. This project not only emphasizes our expertise in the educational sector but also highlights our dedication to enhancing student experience through innovative and practical furniture solutions.
