Engineering and Execution Excellence in a Large Steel Project

Iceland

Country

2025 - 2026

Time frame

We successfully completed a large-scale project that lasted over one year. Our involvement covered the full scope of works, from engineering design and workshop documentation through supply, logistics, and final on-site installation. The project required close coordination of multiple disciplines and strict adherence to technical standards and execution requirements.

Our scope of work covered the full delivery cycle of the project, including design, workshop documentation, supply, logistics, and installation.

The project began with detailed engineering works, which included the analysis of technological openings required for hot-dip galvanizing as well as the development of a 3D machining design for CHS tubular profiles used in the roof trusses. At this stage, we also prepared cutting layouts for corrugated sheet metal roofing and carried out ongoing design development for steel balustrades. In parallel, we produced complete workshop documentation for the steel structures. This included cutting plans for corrugated roof sheets, documentation for SP 18/76 profiles, and further detailed design work for the balustrades, ensuring full readiness for fabrication and assembly.

The supply phase comprised a total steel weight of approximately 68,000 kg. The main structural system consisted of eight asymmetric spatial trusses made of circular hollow section (CHS) profiles. Each truss was divided into two modules and connected on site using preloaded bolted joints in accordance with EN 14399-4/6, strength class 10.9, and executed in compliance with execution class EXC3 according to EN 1090. The entire steel structure was protected against corrosion by hot-dip galvanizing in accordance with EN ISO 1461. In addition, we delivered 1,090 m² of roof covering made of SAB 18/988 profile with a thickness of 0.75 mm, finished with a double-sided HPS200 Ultra coating, as well as 1,050 stadium seats.

We also handled full logistics coordination for all deliveries, ensuring efficient and secure transport of materials and components to the construction site.

The final stage of the project included complete on-site installation works. We carried out the assembly of the steel structure and installed 998 stadium seats, while the remaining units were not mounted due to site-specific conditions. The works were completed with final fitting and adjustment of the installed elements.
