The Petrojarl Knarr is one of the world’s largest floating production and storage units (FPSO) for harsh environments. The FPSO is owned by Teekay, a market leader in FPSO solutions for companies that produce oil and gas in deep waters and harsh weather conditions, and it is the company’s largest project to date. The floating production vessel is 256 metres long and 48 metres wide. The ship has a production capacity of 63,000 barrels a day, and a storage capacity of 800,000 barrels. Petrojarl Knarr will operate on the Knarr field located west of Florø.

About 40 people, were involved in the project phase. Their task was to measure and prepare documentation drawings concerning 700 insulation boxes intended for valves and flanges. Our employees worked in the Korean yard that belongs to the leader and producer of heavy steel structures – Samsung. They worked on the FPSO vessel: Petrojarl Knarr. Next step in the projectOur involment in project in Haugesund, was a combination of work with new build, demolition, and life extension (hull, marine systems, and topsides) required for the FPSO to be kept on the field for 25 years without drydocking. |
