Nyhamna Expansion Project

Following the expansion, the plant’s capacity increased to 84 million standard cubic metres a day (mscm/d) of gas from 70mscm/d. The upgraded facility is connected to the Polarled pipeline, which transports gas from the Aasta Hansteen field and other fields to the plant.
New facilities constructed as part of the project included a processing unit, hydrogen sulphide removal unit, storage tanks, reception facilities for third-party gas, and a fourth export compressor, while the compressor was upgraded and new safety systems installed along with 50 new modules.

Scope of Work by YABIMO
Our company was responsible for a wide range of activities within the project, including:

Engineering, Supervision, and Quality Control: The YABIMO team maintained the highest quality standards through the involvement of over 650 professionals, including QC and Frosio inspectors, engineers, supervisors, and foremen. Our commitment to quality control was crucial to the project’s overall success.
Thermal Insulation and Passive Fire Protection: We specialized in work related to thermal insulation and passive fire protection, ensuring safety and energy efficiency.
Surface Treatment and Architectural Works: YABIMO was responsible for high-quality surface treatment and architectural works, meeting all technical and aesthetic requirements.
Team of Operators: For the part of the project involving insulation and scaffolding, we employed a specialized team of 40 operators who worked in a rotational system during maintenance operations.
