Steel arches for a tunnel, Norway

YABIMO  won the next prestigious project from our regular customer from Norway, but realization to the Faroe Islands. This was our first delivery of a complex construction to the Faroe Islands.

YABIMO prepared workshop and assembly documentation and made prefabrication of steel parts. Due to delivery schedule the project was divided into 3 parts: K30, K40 and K50 and 3 separate containers were prepared.

The total weight of steel was almost 50 tons. Prefabrication was based on EN 1090 and EXC2. We used steel S355j2+N. A big challenge for us was restrictions on the accuracy of performance because of the shape of the elements. We used special benders to achieve the requirements. To secure the construction for corrosion we made hot dip galvanizing and powder coating, based on Norsok.
