Let us briefly highlight one of the world’s
largest museums dedicated to a single artist – Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway. It honors Edvard Munch’s legacy – the artist famous for “The Scream” painting. The museum was opened in 1963 and originally
located at Tøyen (eastern
Oslo). In 2021 it was moved to a new building (13 floors of 26 000 art works)
at Bjørvika (heart of Oslo).
YABIMO was awarded in this prestigious project.
We produced, delivered and installed over 140 tons of steel ceilings for the
staircase and parts of the elevator shaft. We handled not only the
prefabrication of the glazed elevators, one of only few in Europe but also
their installation through a precise hole made in the museum’s roof and the
welding of its components. The
project took us 9 months thanks to the great involvement of the entire crew.
We are more than happy to participate in this
truly breathtaking project.
